The creosote for this piece was foraged in early February 2025. The Valley had just barely broken its run of 159 consecutive days with no measurable rainfall. With its tiny share of the 0.01 inches of rain that fell nearly two weeks before this creosote was not only green but it was blooming. As the small sprig was rolled out into the clay it smelled like rain in the desert. Some of the deep yellow remnants of the blooms transferred to the final plaster as shown. This piece has an integrated wire hook on the back for hanging.
